Oden is the oldest, greatest and wisest of Asagudarna in Nordic mythology. He is also the god of war, the god of the scallop, and the god of the dead, and is the chief practitioner of the art of victory.
He is the one-eyed grandfather who sacrificed his eye to see everything happening in the world.
Oden could change shape. He could fall into ecstasy and send out his soul and then he could look like someone else or as an animal. Together with Frigg he has the son Balder and together with Earth he has the son Tor. Oden also has several animals. His two ravens, Hugin and Munin, memory and remembrance, flying over the world and report what they have seen. Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse can run through all the worlds. Gere and Freke are the wolves of Oden.
